We have recently received some feedback from neighbors that kids are darting across Montview Blvd. on their way to/from school.  If your student walks to school on his/her own, please remind them that jaywalking is DANGEROUS and Illegal.  Please emphasize the importance of crossing at the dedicated crosswalk or stoplight when they are crossing the street.

THURSDAY TREE CUTTING

Yesterday afternoon, DPS sent a tree cutting company to our school to trim the trees on Elm St. We are especially appreciative that they cut the dead branch hanging over our ECE playground, which was a major safety hazard. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused, as we have been patiently awaiting this service for a month.

WESTERN WEAR DAY

Friday, January 25 is the last Friday of the Stock Show.  Wear your western gear, including your hat!

PARK HILL AUCTION

Guys and Dolls Listen Up!  The super-secret auction is quickly approaching… shhhhhh (save the date 2/22), and we need YOUR help daddy-o!  Please reach out to any hooch holding restaurants or businesses you frequent and ask if they would like to shed some clams on our public elementary school’s auction.  Here is an easy breezy form you can print and drop off with your local gangster or speakeasy manager! The ask is super easy and they’ll feel like the bees knees for donating. It’s for the kids!  You may drop off donations at the school office.  Thanks for doing your part and making this our most ROARING fundraiser yet!

*DPS SCHOOL CHOICE*
The SchoolChoice enrollment process for the 2019-2020 school year opened on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, and will continue through Friday, February 15 at 4:00 pm.

If your student is going in to ECE, Kindergarten, or Sixth Grade, you will need to complete the choice process.  In addition, any DPS student who is not currently enrolled at a Denver Public School, or wants to attend a school other than their automatically assigned neighborhood school must take part in SchoolChoice.

This year the entire SchoolChoice process will be 100% ONLINE (you may use your smartphone, iPad, laptop, PC, etc. to complete your SchoolChoice application(s).  We will offer Chromebooks here in the main office at Park Hill for those who do not have a way to complete the process at home, or who need assistance.

  • Find the best school for your student with the Great Schools Enrollment Guides (available at schools), the new School Finder online tool at dpsk12.org, and by touring schools of interest.
  • Apply by using the new online application (powered by SchoolMint) at dpsk12.org between January 15 and February 15 at 4 pm.
  • Watch for your school placement notification in early April 2018.

The process will be easiest for families who already have an existing Parent Portal login because the new Choice system will auto-populate much of your information if you use your Parent Portal credentials to log in.  Please note it is not necessary to access the new SchoolChoice application through Parent Portal, it is just as easy to access it through the main DPS website at schoolchoice.dpsk12.org (just use your Parent Portal Username and Password to log in to the new SchoolChoice system).  If you do not have a Parent Portal login, do not fret.  Go to schoolchoice.dpsk12.org when SchoolChoice opens starting February 1 and you will be directed to create a new account.  If you are brand new to DPS, you will need your student’s proof of birth (birth certificate or passport), and proof of your address (Xcel bill, water bill, mortgage or lease).

  • Enrichment Exploration Summer Camp (formerly known as Ultimate Enrichment Summer Camp at C3)

Do you love after school Enrichments!? Then the Enrichment Exploration Summer Camp is for you! This camp is a single subject a la carte Enrichment Camp. Sign up for one to four blocks per week, featuring your favorite enrichment providers!

The camp will run for six weeks (6/3-6/7, 6/10-6/14, 6/17-6/21, 6/24-6/28, 7/8-7/12, and 7/15-7/19) week 7/1 –7/5 NO CAMP. Full day campers can attend from 8:15am – 4:15pm. Early drop off (6:30am-8:15am) and late pick up (4:15pm – 6pm) are available starting the second week (6/10 – 6/14).

The camp will take place at Bromwell Elementary School (2500 E 4th Ave, Denver, CO 80206). Registration is now open online through School Care Works. Please see below for registration links and directions.
