Our Fifth grade students have been made aware of various resources they can contact if they have a safety concern. Safe2Tell is one of these resources. Safe2Tell has made available an app for phones. We thought you might want to make note of this resource as well, should your child share a concern with you or if you have one yourself. Look at the attached flyer for more information.
FIELD DAY HELP
Mrs. Horeis would love to get some help on the morning of May 21st for the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Field Day. Would you be willing to help set up in the morning (7:50-8:25 am) or even run a station for 30 minutes to an hour to give our teachers a break from the 3 hour Field Day? Please let Mrs. Horeis (email@example.com) know or even if you just show up that morning, your help would be appreciated.
We will have our yearly book exchange for summer reading on May 22 and May 23 (the same dates as field day). If your child would like to participate in the book Exchange for summer reading, please have him/her bring used (previously read books) to school on Monday, May 20, for the exchange with their peers.
Students will be given book bucks for their books.
Paperback books- $1 book buck; Hard back books- $2 book bucks
MEDICATION IN OFFICE
Please make arrangements with the school nurse to pick up all medications used by your child during the school year. Colorado Guidelines state that medications are not permitted to be sent home with your child. If you child is participating in a summer program, their medication will not automatically be transferred to the site of the program. It is up to the parent/guardian to pick up the medication from the school and transport it to the summer program site.
IF ARRANGEMENTS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE FOR MEDICATION PICK-UP, REMAINING MEDICATIONS WILL BE DESTROYED ON MAY 31 AT 12:00 PM.
PARK HILL WEEKEND FOOD PROGRAM
A HUGE thank you to the amazing parent volunteers who dedicated time each week for the Park Hill Weekend Food Program! With your help, many of our students had enough food to take home over their weekends throughout this school year. We couldn’t make this program work without you! We are also so grateful to the Park Hill Food Bank for their efforts and coordination to make this possible. We would like to recognize these 7 outstanding volunteers:
We’d also like to thank all of the PHE families/students who brought in food items for donation throughout this school year. Every item counts! The Weekend Food Program will start up this fall and we will be recruiting volunteers once again.
Have a great summer!
