SEEKING PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS FOR CSC
We are actively seeking parents and community members to join our CSC. It is a once-per-month commitment with responsibilities, so please read the information in the link below. Email Meredith Strumor (Meredith_strumor@dpsk12.org) and Ken Burdette (firstname.lastname@example.org) if interested. Thanks!
GIFTED AND TALENTED UNIVERSAL SCREENING
This fall all DPS students in 6th grade, 2nd grade, and kindergarten will be tested during the universal screening. This fall at Park Hill we will be administering the Gifted and Talented Universal Screening Assessment to our kindergarteners and 2nd graders. Prior to testing, you will receive an intent to test letter with the specific dates.
For students in grades 1, 3, 4 or 5 who are interested in Magnet Program testing, the application deadline is November 1, 2019. For more information about this and for the application, see the following link: https://studentequity.dpsk12.org/gifted-talented/
Please contact Mary Lauth if you have any questions. Mary_Lauth@dpsk12.org
GREATER PARK HILL FOOD BANK
GPHC will be continuing the weekend food program this school year, in an effort to reduce food insecurity for students and provide additional nutritional support to help them be successful at school. The program provides a bag of food consisting of two breakfasts, two snacks, and at least two lunch items, including a fruit and a vegetable. Bags will be delivered to Park Hill Elementary on Tuesdays for distribution to children on Tuesdays at the end of the school day.
We still have a few volunteer spots open, so please click on the link below to help out!
**Go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040a4dabab2da75-park1 to volunteer to help ensure food bags get delivered to the school so our kids can take them home!
DIRECT GIVING PARTY / OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT
Join us Friday, September 20, for our annual Direct Giving Party, which will be held at the school this year. This is your opportunity to donate money directly toward your teacher’s wish list items, which will be used during the 2019-2020 school year. We also will be hosting our annual Park Hill Elementary Outdoor Movie Night, featuring more food trucks, bounce houses, music and Pets 2 under the stars!
