SAFETY POLICY UPDATE
You might notice some new signage on the external doors. As a rule, all Adults MUST sign in at the office during school hours (7:55 am – 2:45 pm), and wear a visitor or volunteer pass when walking around the building. In addition, we are implementing a new policy, whereas, adults will only be permitted to enter the building through the main front or back door during school hours. Our intentions are always for the safety of our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Principal Burdette. Continue reading Friday Folder Bulletin, October 18, 2018
Parents and Families:
I wanted to write and share two important pieces of information with you.
First, we scored 78.41% on our School Performance Framework (SPF). This equates to a score of High Green = Meets Expectations. We were 1.09% away from being Blue. Nonetheless, so very proud of our teachers, our staff, and our students. Thank you for all your ongoing support.
One area I am particularly proud of is our Academic Gaps measure. Two years ago, PHE scored 14% on this measure. This year, we were 69% – an increase of 55% over two years! Way to go PHE!
Second, many of you have asked about the new construction project on our school grounds. It will be a beautiful Outdoor Classroom Space with seating, plants, and trees. The project, the time, the volunteers, everything has been kindly donated by the Architect Firm Hord Coplan Macht.

If your student missed Picture Day, or you are planning a retake of their image on October 25th’s Retake Day, you must register them for retakes by October 24 at https://www.parkhillphotos.com/park-hill-elementary-retake-signup/. We will update the online galleries with the new images on October 26, and you will have until October 31 to place your picture order.
ATTENDANCE AND TARDY EXPECTATIONS
We have activated the attendance auto dialer. If your student is marked absent at school, you will receive notification through the auto dialer. Therefore, PLEASE notify the school office (it is not sufficient to just tell your child’s teacher), when you know your child will be absent from school, or more than 15 minutes late. If you know your child is at school, but you receive an absence notification, please notify the office immediately. Continue reading Friday Folder Bulletin, October 12, 2018
Dear Park Hill Parents:
Over the past few years, I have grown increasingly concerned about traffic in our neighborhood. I know many of you have felt the same, and have shared in a variety of ways. Our PTSA has helped tackle this with the implementation of the Kiss and Go, as well as Mr. Morgan and Ms. Mildred serving as crossing guards. In addition, one of our parents and community members has taken this initiative to the next level. My goal in sharing this link with you is to a) make you aware that this is taking place, and b) confirm my commitment to the safety of your children. As Principal, I support most, if not all, measures in keeping our students and adults safe. Thank you!

A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Parents: You know I love dogs as much as the next person does. However, I need to ask that we keep dogs off school grounds during school hours. Due to some allergy concerns and safety concerns, it has become necessary for me to ask this of you. Thank you for your support with this.
