THINGS I NEED TO KNOW about Kindergarten
Where do I get dropped off and picked up?
Ms. Neale and Ms. Lulu’s class will meet at the gate on the southwest corner of the Pre-K playground.
Ms. Hurley and Ms. Gulley’s class will meet on the northwest corner of the blacktop, to the left of the central door.
What is my daily schedule?
Each Kindergarten class has a different schedule that will be shown during meet the teacher night and shared with families.
How much homework will I have?
There is no homework in Kindergarten. Optional Skills (literacy) and Bridges (math) sent home in Friday folders to accompany lessons taught in class.
What do I need to bring to school?
Backpack, water bottle, snack, lunch (unless a student is getting hot lunch from school), change of clothes
What will I learn this year?
So much! We will learn reading and math foundations. As well as social-emotional development and regulation skills embedded into joyful play

Celebrations
Birthdays: 2:30 pm on Fridays
No food
One item for each member in the classroom, some examples are: bubbles, fidget toy, pencil, sticker, stamp, eraser, bracelet.
School Wide: Halloween and Valentine’s Day
Kindergarten: Winter Celebration
Teach about different cultures around the world and what they celebrate in the winter
Kindergarten Celebration at the end of the School Year
Tech and Toys and Trinkets
No technology on a student’s body outside of one used for physical or medical needs that has already been discussed with the teacher ahead of time.
No toys are to be brought from home to school.
Field Trips
We believe that learning through experiences is very important, and we are fortunate enough to go on a number of field trips this school year.
Each one is different in terms of transportation, chaperones, length of time, etc. All information about trips will be given with ample time to families to plan and join if able.
Classroom Family Volunteers
The Kinder classrooms love having support and family presence in the classrooms and there will be many opportunities to do so. Each teacher goes about this process differently and will reach out about possibilities.
