we Will always remember Ms. Amy as the perfect kindergarten teacher. Always cheerful, positive, and so loving to everyone around her, but especially the children. We will remember her songs and wonderful laugh.
Our Henry (2nd grader at PHE) was lucky to have Ms. Amy as his virtual Kindergarten teacher, and so we were blessed with Ms. Amy's loveliness every school day during that bizarre and trying COVID year. Ms Amy's warmth and obvious love for her kids came through even if only via the computer screen. In a dark time, she was a shining light for our family... and our Felix, who was 3 at the time, often tagged along with Henry as Felix was drawn to the fun the kids were clearly having. Felix was then lucky enough to have Ms. Amy as his Kindergarten teacher this year... and we simply cannot be thankful enough for all of the light and…
Ms. Amy was a treasure. To my knowledge, she was one of the only Park Hill teachers who offered to babysit students through teacher time at the Park Hill auction. My son loved her so much that he asked for this as a special time with his teacher. She willingly babysat him and his brother--along with other students and their siblings. While it gave parents a welcome break, she lovingly engaged with them and their antics. I don't know how you did it, Amy--you spend all day with several 5 and 6 year olds and then willingly and lovingly take them on after work. You blessed them AND us as parents. Your kind, loving, encouraging words were a m…
Ms. Amy was my kindergarten teacher 13 years ago. Last year a couple of days after I had graduate i Saw her there at the school and I went up to her and asked her if she remembered me, and the way her eyes just light up made me feel special. Because she actually remembered me and as soon as she did she gave me a big hug and told me “ give it all you got there’s nothing you can’t achieve”. Her saying that made me really look at what i wanna do in my future or even now.
When I saw that my daughter would be in Ms Amy's class this year, I was a little worried that stubborn Abby would walk all over this sweet and patient teacher, but it was amazing to see how Ms Amy could still command the attention and respect of a class full of wild kindergartners. The last story Abby told me about Ms Amy was that Abby and her friend had been fighting, and they came to Ms Amy to arbitrate. Ms Amy heard them out and then started singing, "Let It Go" from Frozen. :) Our whole family felt Ms Amy's love for these kids, and we are devastated to lose her. -The Jackson Family
