Happy Friday Park Hill Families,
Thank you for your support these past days with the heaviness of school safety and the overall well-being of our students. Moving forward, we will continue to implement safety measures that will benefit students, staff, and families. One immediate adjustment will be that all parents and visitors to the school during the hours of 8:25am - 3:45pm will need to use the Front Door on E 19th Ave only - we will no longer permit parents and visitors to use the buzzer system at the back door. This will be a learning process over the next few weeks for some, and that is ok! Our top priority is the safety of our school community.
Wishing you a safe and relaxing weekend in this beautiful weather.
- Ken Burdette, Principal
Super Mega Awesome Dance Party Kickoff
It’s time to get our dancing shoes on and launch the Super Mega Awesome Fundraiser! This week, the Student Leadership Committee has been in your student’s classroom to talk about the fundraiser and how it works. This fundraiser is student-led but depending on the age of your child they might need a little guidance once they get home, so that is where we need YOUR HELP as a parent. Attached you will find an extra flyer with all of the information you need to know to get started. Today your student will also bring home a paper flyer and a cool water bottle sticker. Please reach out to the SMA Dance Party Crew with any questions: smadp@parkhillptsa.com.

Yearbook Order Form
The Yearbook Committee has been working all year on creating a wonderful yearbook for your children! Yearbook sales are occuring NOW through April 21. Please order books now for your student, as we will not be ordering extra books. The cost of the book is approximately $30, including tax. To purchase a Park Hill Elementary yearbook go here
(You will need to create an account and enter your name and select your role as "Parent")
Please consider donating an extra book or two for a student who cannot afford one. Our goal is to provide as many students, and all graduating students, a yearbook!
Parents of 5th graders: you will be invited to add a tribute (for an additional $15) for your graduating 5th grader. Tributes are for 5th grade students only and the cost of the tribute goes to PHE's PTSA. We're working on linking this to the yearbook purchase for ease, but wanted to get this info out now!
Principal’s Account low
We often keep a reserve fund ("Principal's Account") with Mr Dennis in the Cafeteria. This allows any and all students to eat hot lunch each day, regardless of economic status or how much money they have in their account. We typically keep $300-$500 on hand in this account. Currently, the account is at $0, and Mr Dennis has graciously been serving all students regardless. This account has historically been funded by the generosity of families in the community. If you want to contribute to this account, you can drop off a check or cash in the main office. Please note, this is not tied to any fundraising efforts at PHE or the PTSA. This is strictly related to Lunch.
School Lunch Reminder
If your student eats hot lunches and you don’t have your account set to automatically replenish, please check your myschoolbucks.com account. We have a significant number of students that have a balance. Please contact the front office if you have any questions or concerns.
CPR Training
Over Spring Break, 44 staff members took part in an optional CPR certification training. This training was made possible from PTSA contributions! Thanks for the support and to our staff members for taking time out of their break to support our students' health needs.
Home Social and Emotional Skills Materials
The Kindergarten students are learning the Lessons from the Bright Butterfly (for children 3-8 years old). It explores the life cycle phases of the butterfly represented as these important social and emotional skills:
A Growth Mindset
Happiness
Mindfulness
Resilience
Visioning
The effectiveness of most of the tools and techniques taught are evidence-based. Plus, doing daily activities with the Bright Butterfly will encourage your child to create happy, healthy habits and inspire them to learn something new every day. You can connect with them and introduce some of these activities into your daily life as well! Please enjoy a 50% discount on the course exclusively for families: Click here.
