Happy Friday PHE Families,
I hope families enjoyed the Labor day holiday. We were all happy to see students jump back into things and classrooms felt a bit more routine (and cooler) this week.
Last Friday we had our first ROAR winners. At Park Hill we celebrate students that exemplify the ROAR traits: Respect others, Ongoing learning, Always safe, and Responsible actions. In addition to our weekly winners, many teachers and staff give out ROAR tickets throughout the week when they see these traits being demonstrated. Take a moment to ask your student’s about ROAR if you are not familiar with it!
Finally, I have loved seeing so many families taking advantage of the good weather and walking/biking to school. Our bike racks have almost filled up most days. The parking situation has been challenging with all of the road construction. I hope that will wrap up soon, but let's keep the bike racks full as long as the weather is cooperating!

Activity Fees
Please take a moment to pay for activity fees for the school year for each of your Park Hill students. Payment can be made via the PTSA website, check (made payable to ‘Park Hill PTSA’), or cash in the office. This year’s fee is $45 per student at Park Hill. Scholarships are available. If you’re unsure of whether or not your student's activity fee has been paid, please contact the office. Activity fees cover the costs of field trips, buses, guest speakers, and other special activities.
Yoga for Kinder-2nd
During dance class this month, Kinder, 1st and 2nd Grade students will be doing yoga. Please make sure children have clean feet and shoes that are easy to take off and put back on during their dance days. Students will be helping with cleaning yoga mats regularly at the end of class.
Enrichment Info
Most enrichments are scheduled to start next week. Please double check your student’s Enrichment schedule including run times and dates off.
-Kinder and 1st grade students are escorted to their Enrichments by a PHE staff member
-Pickup is on the back playground. Please be on time
Lifetouch Photo Ordering
Lifetouch photography will be taking student photos on September 19th and 20th. Parents can pre-order photos using the following Picture Day ID code: EVTDDQSKJ at MyLifetouch.com. Park Hill Elementary gets a small portion of sales. Teachers will be sending out more information about which day their class is scheduled to have their photos.
Health Reminder
As we move closer to fall and the viral season we wanted to remind families about the DPS COVID policy. Students who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate for five days. Day Zero is defined as the day symptoms begin or the day of the positive test, whichever comes first. Isolation may end on Day Five if:
Symptoms have ended or symptoms are improving.
Individuals are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medications.
After the five-day isolation has ended and individuals are feeling better, they should wear a high-quality mask -- such as a KN95 or N95 -- through Day 10. If symptoms are not improving and/or fever persists past Day Five, isolating until Day 10 is recommended.
Dinosaur Spirit Day last Friday?
Our facility manager, Chuck, and kindergarten paraprofessional, Mr Wink, were both sporting terrific dinosaur shirts last Friday. Our younger students, in particular, enjoyed the shirts!!
Streets Update
We were informed today that the city of Denver will be paving Elm and Fairfax on Monday starting at 8:30 am and will be done before dismissal. They are setting out the NO PARKING signs now for Monday's work.
PTSA
What is the PTSA?
The Park Hill PTSA is a volunteer-based service organization with two goals:
Bridge the gap between school and home by building community.
Raise funds to cover educational necessities that the district (DPS) does not cover. In addition to covering costs to better the school itself, our efforts in fundraising support essential school workers and programs that benefit our teachers and children.
Follow us on Instagram & Facebook @pheptsa
There are parent led groups within the Facebook page for each grade K-5
Set-up Cashback programs: King Soopers & Givebacks
We’ll continue to provide more “what we do” information in the coming weeks and as the school year gets rolling!
Direct Giving Party & Movie Night
We are excited to host our Direct Giving Party & Outdoor Movie Night on Friday, October 6th! This evening is your opportunity to meet other families, make new friends and catch up with old friends while enjoying music and a movie under the stars. People typically bring blankets or chairs and sit on the field while socializing and watching a movie at dusk. There will be food trucks, bounce houses, and a movie on a huge screen in the grass. This is also an opportunity to donate money directly toward your teacher’s wish list items, which will be used during the 2023/24 school year. SAVE THE DATE as you won’t want to miss this fun event! The party starts at 5:30 pm, the movie will start around sunset ~ 7pm.
We will be posting for volunteers to help with this fun event in the next Panther Pages! We’ll also post online access to donate to the wish lists prior to Movie Night.
Reminder: Park Hill Night at the Rapids; October 21
Enjoy a night surrounded by your friends and neighbors where you cheer on our Rapids! A portion of all ticket sales will go back to the school. One of our easiest fundraisers that also doubles as a great social and community building activity!
