Good Afternoon Park Hill Families:

On behalf of the school, thank you for your patience and understanding with the heat this week and our early release schedule. I understand it was an inconvenience for some, and we appreciate your collaboration for the safety of our students and staff.

Wishing everyone a great weekend. We will see you back here on Monday.

-Ken Burdette, Principal

Field & Morning Drop Off Reminder

We are excited to have our Field open again! The grass looks great and the kids are loving it. Just a reminder to please keep dogs, bikes, etc off the grass, as we strongly desire for the grass to stay alive for student use. Within the next month we expect the track to be weeded and re-landscaped.

Also, a reminder that the Cafeteria opens at 7:55am with PHE adult supervision, and the outside grounds open at 8:10am with PHE adult supervision. Students who arrive to play prior to 8:10am will need parent/adult supervision.

Kiss and Drop will start on Monday

The Kiss and Drop lane (on Elm St) will start next Monday. Please refer to the website (under ‘Bell times, drop off and pickup information’) if you have questions about how the Kiss and Drop lane works. Alternatively, if the weather and your schedule accommodate it, please consider walking or riding to school! Say ‘hi’ to our fabulous crosswalk volunteer, Nicole, if you see her!

Enrichment Programs

Families of students who were accepted into an Enrichment will receive Vendor sign up links today. Please make sure to register your student in a timely manner. Families that do not do so may lose their spot in the enrichment and we will open it to the next eligible student. Thanks to all of our participating families for their patience as we rolled out the lottery system this year.

School Vision, Hearing, and Dental Screenings

Denver Public Schools provides free vision, hearing, and dental screenings for all students in identified grades (Early Childhood Education, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th). The screenings are NOT an assessment or an evaluation and do NOT replace professional exams. Mass screening is considered best practice to identify students who may be at risk for health concerns affecting the student’s ability to learn, and who may need extra support to reach academic benchmarks.

You must notify our school nurse, Wendy Harper (wendy_harper@dpsk12.org) directly should you wish to REFUSE/OPT OUT of any of the free screenings for your student.

The health screening components of vision and hearing will be completed at your child’s school on: Dates: October 6, 7, 10 with a rescreen on October 11. Please contact Wendy for any questions or concerns about the health screenings. Parents/guardians of students who were absent or who did not have optimal hearing, vision or dental screening results will be notified in writing regarding the results.

Reminder: Activity Fees

Thank you to all of our families that have paid their student’s activity fees. Payment can be made on the PTSA website, or please bring cash or checks (Payable to ‘Park Hill PTSA’) to the school office for $45/student. Contact Ann in the office for scholarship requests.

Milk caps for ‘Moola’

The school receives a small portion of funds for each milk cap returned from Longmont Dairy. Clean milk caps can be brought into the office with your student or dropped off during the school day.
